Why I’m Stepping Forward

  • I’m running for Victoria City Council and the Capital Regional District because Victoria needs practical leadership, clear priorities and measurable results.
  • I’m also running for the CRD because many of our biggest challenges are regional. Homelessness, affordable housing, transportation, infrastructure, emergency planning and economic development do not stop at Victoria’s municipal boundaries.
  • Our city has many plans. What we need now is stronger execution, turning those plans into visible improvements in housing, public safety, homelessness, healthcare access, neighbourhoods and the local economy.
  • I want to bring more than 40 years of experience as an engineer, executive, entrepreneur, project manager, educator and community volunteer to public service.
  • An engineering approach is needed at City Hall: understand the problem, use reliable evidence, evaluate the options, manage costs and risks, establish measurable targets and report publicly on results.
  • Major projects must all be properly planned and managed so taxpayers receive better value and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • No one councillor can do it all. Progress requires the mayor, councillors, City staff, regional municipalities, senior governments, community organizations, businesses and residents working together.
  • I will champion practical solutions, ask difficult questions, build support and remain accountable for results. As an independent candidate, my decisions will be based on evidence, community needs and what will deliver the best outcomes for Victoria, not partisan politics.
